I know that I was born to be a teacher, and I would tell this to anyone that would listen since I was very young.  My parents say that I begged them to send me to school when I was two-years-old.  My love for learning and exploring in the classroom began when my parents gave in to my pleading and sent me to pre-school.  I love to see that same drive and enthusiasm to learn in my own students today.

I have been teaching for more than ten years, experiencing various ages, disciplines, and grades.  I began my career assisting in a preschool and facilitating art activities with three-year-olds.   Later, I spent five years teaching 5th grade.  I really enjoyed teaching this age group, where the students were becoming more independent and accountable for their education.   I loved the challenge of motivating a hesitant or struggling learner and keeping each student engaged.

Presently, I am teaching in the same school for my tenth year.  For the past five years I have had the pleasure of teaching Kindergarten.  This has been and continues to be a most rewarding experience for me.  Because my love for learning began in my earliest years of education, I enjoy every moment of making the primary years a memorable experience for my students.  I love observing my students while they work, and enjoy watching them grow and develop into critical thinkers and problem solvers.

I am excited to continue my adventures in teaching, as I take on new challenges and accept new responsibilities.  There is nothing I would rather do with my life than teach!

At TCNJ I studied both Elementary Education and Fine Arts, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in May 2007.  Upon graduation I obtained a teacing certificate for both Elementary Teaching and  Art Teaching, and in 2010, I earned a Standard Certificate in both as well.

While at TCNJ, I was an active member of Phi Sigma Sigma, serving on philantropy committees, organizing fundraisers and drives to benefit the National Kidney Foundation, as well as serving on the executive board.

Additionally, I worked closely with my mentor, Dr. Debra Frank, raising awareness for Parkinson's Disease.  In 2007, I assisted Dr. Frank with her fundraiser "ParkinSong".
